The nuclear power plant Ringhals 4 is down.
– Troubleshooting and remedial work are currently underway, says Anna Collin, press manager at Ringhals.
There is a temporary production stop at Ringhals 4 since 01.30 last night.
– Then there was an automatic stop, says Anna Collin.
Ringhals 3 works works as usual.
– We are working to get Ringhals 4 up and running as soon as possible, says the press manager.
So far, it is unclear what caused the stop, but Vattenfall and Ringhals are now investigating the incident.
More expensive electricity
According to Pontus De Maré, operations manager at Svenskt kraftnät, the loss of production leads to electricity prices being raised.
– This means that there is less electricity available in southern Sweden that needs to be replaced with another. This has an upward price impact.
Despite the energy loss, Svenskt kraftnät sees no danger to the electricity supply.
If the fault were not to be located today, should we be concerned?
– I do not think so.
