In a decree read on Burkinabè television on the evening of Saturday December 7, the head of the junta in power in Burkina Fasothe captain Ibrahim Traoreannounced his decision to appoint Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo as Prime Minister. Aged 41, he replaces Appolinaire Kyelem de Tambèla, sacked the day before.
Spokesperson for the outgoing government, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo was also in charge of the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism – with the rank of Minister of State -, a position he occupied in all the teams that have succeeded one another since the first named the day after the coup d’état which brought captain Ibrahim Traoré to power, in October 2022.
Lightning trajectory
Before entering politics, this advisor in information and communication sciences and techniques was the director of Burkinabè public television RTB. Reappointed during the three reshuffles over the past two years, he was elevated to the rank of minister of state a year ago.
