Through a collaboration with Porsche, in 2021 Rimac also gained responsibility for the long-standing hypercar manufacturer Bugatti.
Should be completely self-driving
Now the company reveals that it is also working on a project of a completely different nature. It reports Coach.
They are developing a self-driving taxi under the name Project 3 Mobility. Partner companies for the project are Kia, who were early investors in Rimac.
The car must be completely self-driving and work within a framework with infrastructure such as chargers and parking solutions, which are also being developed by Rimac.
According to the founder Mate Rimac, it is about “a car, but of a completely different type”.

The focus when it comes to the design should be on maximizing the interior space. The vehicle the technology is tested on is said to be a Renault Espace minibus, which may indicate the intended form factor.

The development of the project is taking place at Rimac’s base in Zagreb, Croatia, as well as in the UK, and the launch of the taxi service is expected to take place in these two countries as well as Germany in 2026.
