The Finnish billiards 10-ball championship was played over the weekend in Tuusula and Helsinki.
Only 17 years old Riku Romppanen won the Finnish pool 10-ball championship in Helsinki.
Professional player from Helsinki Jani Siekkinen lost to Romppanen in the finals, sets 6–8.
Romppanen made history at the same time, as the Vantaa native became the youngest Finnish champion of the general pool series of all time.
The achievement is not exactly a surprise, as Romppanen has been successful in youth leagues and has also toured professional competitions for years, taking world-class scalps in various tournaments.
A total of 96 players participated in the billiards 10-ball championships this year.
In pool billiards Mika Immonen has won the 10-ball world championship in 2009.
