Turku Palloseura, which plays in the first division of football, has signed a 2+1-year contract Riku Riskin with. Riski is returning to the ranks of TPS after more than ten years.
– I have many good memories of Tepsi. I value what I have received from Teps as a player. The foundation for my professional career was created here. Yes, it has always been in my mind that it would be great to return to Tepsi someday, and it feels really good that that return is now coming true, says Riski in the club’s press release.
Raised by Masku Palloseura, he joined TPS in 2004. He played his first betting league games in 2006. Riski went abroad in 2011. He has played in Poland, Sweden, Norway and Scotland.
Riski returned to Finland in 2018. For the last five seasons, he has played in the Helsinki Football Club, winning three Finnish championships. Last season, Riski had back surgery and played in the HJK reserve team Klubi 04 from Kakko.
Riski has played in 26 matches in the national team. In 2019, he refused the national team’s training camp in Qatar for ethical reasons. The matter was reported even in foreign media.
Turku Palloseura starts its third consecutive season in the First Division. At the end of last season, the team played for promotion to the Veikkausliiga, but lost in the decisive game in the follow-up match to FC Lahti.
