An MP who was subjected to blackmail by a woman he had sex with is now himself suspected of a crime. The Special Prosecutor’s Chamber has started a preliminary investigation into suspected sex purchases, writes DN.
The Member of Parliament gave a woman SEK 5,000 after they had sex in his overnight apartment last Christmas. He himself claims that the money was to help the woman with the rent and to pay for taxis.
The preliminary investigation is led by chief prosecutor Maria Sterup, who confirms to DN that a preliminary investigation is underway, but otherwise does not want to comment on the case.
Another woman, who accompanied the parliamentarian that evening, then threatened to publish a photo from the occasion.
In the following weeks, the woman wanted more money and the politician swiped a total of SEK 65,000. At the beginning of February, he went to the Security Police, who started a preliminary investigation.
The woman was arrested at the end of February and is suspected of aggravated extortion.
