Dekker must replace Van de Graaf. He has been active in local politics since he was 19, including in his hometown of Lopik. Dekker has worked as a policy officer at the Ministry of the Interior since 2016 and recently as a committee member at the Provincial Council in Utrecht. He will be officially nominated as alderman during the council meeting on Thursday, July 4. If the municipal council then agrees, he can then get to work.
