Alien: Romulus became one of the biggest sci-fi hits of the year and did more than just around the world $350 million into the coffers (via Box Office Mojo ), but also inspire the press and audience. Fede Álvarez’s film received a strong 7.5 points from the Moviepilot community, while Rotten Tomatoes has a review score of 80 percent.
Producer Ridley Scott now apparently wants to build on this success – because one A new Alien film is already being planned.
Ridley Scott Develops New Alien Movie Following Success of Alien:Romulus
As reported in a lengthy Hollywood Reporter profile of the legendary filmmaker, Scott is already developing one new Alien film for 20th Century Studios. The decision is said to have been fueled by the success of Alien: Romulus.

Further details are currently being kept under wraps. It is not yet known whether the new film as a sequel to Alien: Romulus will serve, or Scott will follow up on the prequels Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that the Alien film is a standalone spin-off.
The Alien franchise has been around for 45 years
The Alien series includes to date seven films and began with the sci-fi classic Alien in 1979. In addition, there are two crossover films, Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator 2. A separate series was developed as Alien: Earth by Ridley Scott and will start next year on FX, Hulu and Disney+.
