RICKY MARTIN. Singer Ricky Martin, famous for the song “Un, dos, tres Maria”, is accused of incest by his nephew.
Accused of incest, Ricky Martin denies it altogether. The 50-year-old singer, known for his song Un, dos, tres Maria, has been facing domestic violence charges for two weeks from his nephew, reports the American press. In early July, the media Associated Press revealed that a restraining order for domestic violence had been passed in Puerto Rico, in the Caribbean. The identity of the complainant was not disclosed at the time.
In this order, it is, according to several media including El Voceroindicated that the alleged victim and Ricky Martin had been dating “for seven months”, but that the rupture would have been complicated for the singer to accept: “He calls him frequently, and (the complainant) saw him prowling around from his accommodation at least three times. (The complainant) fears for his safety.”
According to the Spanish media brandQuoted by TMZ, the alleged victim would be his nephew, son of his sister, aged 21 at the material time. The latter accuses the singer of physical and psychological violence during their relationship. On his Twitter account, Ricky Martin continues to deny the charges against him: “The restraining order against me is based on completely false allegations, so I will respond to them by respecting the legal process with the facts and dignity that characterizes me. Because this is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make a detailed statement at this time.”
In a press release addressed to the site varietyMarty Singer, the 50-year-old singer’s lawyer, also denies the allegations. “Ricky Martin has obviously never been – and never will be – involved in a romantic or sexual relationship of any kind with his nephew. This idea is not only wrong, it is disgusting.” In the same document, the advice of Ricky Martin adds that his nephew “suffers from profound mental health problems”: “We all hope that this man will get the help he urgently needs. But, above all, we look forward May this terrible case be dismissed as soon as a judge has had a chance to study the facts.”
Born in December 1971 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ricky Martin is the father of four children and married to Swedish painter Jwan Yosef since 2018. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday, July 21, the singer has an appointment in front of the Puerto Rican justice.
