RFI Rome Tiburtina infrastructural and technological upgrading works

(Finance) – The activities of Italian railway network (FS Italiane Group) for technological and infrastructural upgrading in the Rome hub. This time the interventions – aimed at increasing the quality standards of the service – will take place in the Tiburtina station. Starting from 12.00 on Saturday 1st April until about 8.00 on Sunday 2nd April RFI will carry out important interventions which will concern in particular: the connection of the tracks of the Rome-Sulmona line to the freight line, technological upgrade of the traffic management systems of Tiburtina and Prenestina and the modernization of the public information system.

For these jobs, which will end this weekend, the economic investment amounts to around 20 million euros. On Saturday and Sunday, around 100 people from the FS Italiane Group and contractors will be at work in several shifts.

To allow the full operation of the construction sites, the movement of trains on the line FL2 Rome – Tivoli will undergo changes, the connections between Roma Tiburtina/Roma Termini and Bagni di Tivoli/Guidonia will be guaranteed by bus, while some long-distance and freight trains will undergo detours on other itineraries or changes to arrival/departure times.
