The skeleton that was part of theater props at Danderyd’s high school has been found to be human, reports the newspaper Mitt in Stockholm.

On Thursday, the newspaper wrote that the skeleton was removed after suspicions that it could be from a real person. The skeleton hung from the ceiling of the theater but was taken down when a custodian wondered if it wasn’t real.

Ann Gustavsson, antiquarian and osteologist at the Karolinska Institute, has looked at the skeleton and determined that it is human bones.

– What I can say is that it is an adult. But how old is hard to say, says Gustavsson to the newspaper.

She says there are no rules or procedures for the schools on how to handle objects such as skeletons.

– The municipalities would have to make decisions about how to handle this. It is a discussion that needs to be addressed.
