Return to Moria is released on Steam and brings a major update

In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria you will be part of the answer to the question of whether the dwarves from Tolkien’s fantasy world ever reclaimed their old home. After around a year of exclusivity on Epic Games, the game is now also being released on Steam – and it also comes with a major update.

What is the game about? The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival crafting game set in the popular fantasy universe of JRR Tolkien. The story takes place in the fourth age of Middle Earth, i.e. after the books.

You play a group of dwarves who want to recapture the abandoned dwarven city of Moria (known as Khazad-dûm in Dwarven). But the deeper you go into the underground city with your troops, the greater the dangers that await you.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will be released on August 27, 2024 on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release will be accompanied by “The Golden Update”, the trailer of which you can see here:

What’s in the new update? With the release on multiple platforms, crossplay is also added. So you can play together with your friends, regardless of whether they bought the game through the Epic Games Store, Steam or one of the consoles.

The Golden Update also includes a new sandbox mode, 14 new armors and weapons, and over 100 new building objects, including new decorations and furniture.

A list of all updates can be found on the game’s official website.
