South Korea retaliated against North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile test on March 24. South Korea carried out ‘elephant walk’ training with 28 F-35 type warplanes in its possession.
South Korea’s Ministry of Defense reported on Friday that Defense Minister Suh Wook oversaw “elephant walk” training at an unspecified airbase earlier on Friday.
In the exercise, fully equipped F-35 warplanes performed ‘elephant walk’ training by taxiing in close order just before takeoff.
NORTH KOREA INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE TRIED
North Korea announced that the missile it tested was a “new type” intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).
While it was reported that this missile was “launched for the first time”, it was stated that the test took place under the supervision of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
South Korea reported that North Korea’s missile flew approximately 1080 kilometers at an altitude of over 6,200 kilometers.
Japan had confirmed that the missile had landed 150 kilometers west of the Oshima area in Hokkaida and within the national exclusive economic zone.
United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that the intercontinental ballistic missile test “publicly violated” UN Security Council resolutions.
