The CAPC, the Contemporary Art Center of Bordeaux, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. For the occasion, the institution called on the Canadian visual artist of Tanzanian origin Kapwani Kiwanga. The artist, who lives and works in Paris, designed a work especially for the great nave of the place built in 1824 to accommodate colonial foodstuffs, taking advantage of the triangular trade and slavery.
► “Retention”, the installation by Kapwani Kiwanga, to see at LCdr of Bordeaux until January 7, 2024.
