resumption of the inclusive national dialogue and the still unsuccessful negotiations

what inland delegates want

In Chad, the work of the inclusive national dialogue resumed this Saturday, September 3, after a three-day suspension in order to negotiate with political parties and civil society organizations that have opted for a boycott. When work resumed, the presidium found that the efforts had not succeeded, while the police were still surrounding the headquarters of the opposition party, Les Transformateurs. The latter does not participate in the assizes.

After the resumption of the work of the forum, this Saturday morning, the president of the presidium, Gali Ngoté Gata admitted that the three days of suspension did not make it possible to convince the recalcitrant fringe to re-enter the dialogue.

Religious leaders and elders who sit on the ad-hoc mediation committee have also refused to be part of the dialogue. The presidium took note of their decision while asking them to continue their efforts.

In addition, the draft of an agenda on the progress of the forum until its end, scheduled for Monday, October 5, was distributed to the participants. It should be examined on Monday in plenary.

Meanwhile, the Transformers party headquarters remains surrounded by law enforcement. A few activists, however, tried to get closer to Succes Masra’s party headquarters. They were repelled by tear gas canisters.

In a video posted on Facebook, the leader of the Transformers said he had received from the government the proposal to cancel the meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. in exchange for the release of the arrested activists. Proposal which he claims to have declined.
