PATENT 2022. After the tests last week, the results of the patent 2022 are revealed from Friday July 8th. Here are the publication times of the results announced by the academies…
The 2022 college patent exams took place on Thursday June 30 and Friday July 1, 2022 in France and the 856,172 candidates for the general patent and the professional patent are now awaiting the verdict. The result of this patent 2022 will be delivered for the most part on Friday July 8, the date on which the very large majority of academies have decided to publish their lists of admitted candidates. Some academies will publish their results on Monday July 11 and Tuesday July 12.
Before the result, the patent was this year tainted with leaks of the history-geo and science subjects in general series. Last Thursday, the Ministry of Education denounced a “proven leak” of subjects for the second day of tests. A leak discovered on WhatsApp private messaging. The ministry has announced its intention to file a complaint and will launch an internal administrative investigation in parallel. For history-geo and science on Friday, these are therefore relief subjects that have been distributed to candidates in the general series.
The calculation of the result of the patent of the colleges remains simple: the continuous control counts for 400 points, that is to say half of the note of the patent. The other 400 points are divided between the final events. You must obtain at least 400 points to obtain your college diploma.
On what dates and at what times are the results of the patent published?
Each year, the results of the patent are revealed at the beginning of July, on dates which differ slightly according to the academies. The process therefore differs from that of the results of the baccalaureate, which are, for their part, transmitted during “a single day”. Here are the dates announced for the communication of the results of the 2022 patent by the academies themselves. They are spread out between Friday July 8th and Tuesday July 12th. Please note that these times are given as an indication and are subject to change:

What are the latest patent results?
During the previous edition of the exam, the college patent ended with a 88% success rate, with little change in this rate following the “replacement” session in mid-September. Of the nearly 840,500 candidates who worked on the certificate, 739,400 third-grade students obtained their diploma. A slightly lower rate (-2.4 points) compared to that of the previous year. In 2020, the Covid epidemic had indeed led to total continuous control. In 2021, although confined to the spring, the students took the exam in June under normal conditions. The 2021 pass rate for the college patent is therefore rather to be compared with that of the 2019 session, which amounted to 86.5%.
The patent is scored out of 800 points in total, combining continuous monitoring and end-of-year tests. You need a minimum of 400 points to earn the diploma.
Continuous monitoring is taken into account in the marking, including projects carried out in class, like the EPI (Practical Interdisciplinary Teaching). The evaluation of the common base is done on eight skills, each evaluated in the school report through four levels of points:
- 10 dots for “insufficient” control
- 25 dots for a “fragile” mastery
- 40 dots for a “satisfactory” job
- 50 dots for a “very good” mastery
If the student has collected 50 points everywhere, he has accumulated the maximum possible for the continuous assessment part of the certificate, ie 400 points (as a reminder, this is half of the total points for the diploma).
The final rounds of the college patent therefore represent “only” half of the total patent scale each year, scored out of 400 points. As a reminder, there are five: the four writings of French, mathematics, history-geography / moral and civic education and sciences, as well as an oral test. This consists of a 15-minute presentation divided into two parts: a 5-minute presentation of a project worked on during the year and a 10-minute interview with the jury. The project presented was worked on during the interdisciplinary practical lessons or the third-year internship in a company.
What were the subjects and the corrections of the 2022 patent?

What are the coefficients of the college certificate?
Strictly speaking, there is no coefficient for the college patent exams. The oral certificate is scored on its own out of 100 points, like the written French test and the written mathematics test, scored out of 100 points each. Written history-geography and moral and civic education (EMC) tests; and science are each assessed on 50 points. It is therefore half of our final (400 points) which is dependent on the end-of-year exams. It is possible to earn up to 20 more points if an optional option has been followed.
The three mentions of the college patent correspond to the levels of points obtained beyond the average of 400 points out of 800:
- Mention quite well : more than 480 points
- Mention good : more than 560 points
- Mention very good : more than 640 points
Mentions “regional language”, “college series, international option” and “Franco-German option” also exist. More information about this on the Onisep websitethe National Office for Information on Education and Professions, a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.
