The increased spread of the coronavirus means that several hospitals are now reintroducing restrictions for relatives and close visitors, writes Dagens Medicin.

These include Norra Älvsborgs Länssjukhus in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital, where the number of admissions for covid-19 has quadrupled in the last ten days.

The two hospitals now allow a maximum of two visitors per patient and occasion. Visitors must also wear mouth guards.

Region Dalarna has also tightened the rules this week. Visits should take place outdoors or in patient rooms and relatives and close relatives are encouraged to spray their hands before, during and after visits, Region Dalarna writes in a press release.

Since 5 July, Sahlgrenska University Hospital has recommended that visits to inpatients be avoided. All visitors are advised to use mouth guards on the hospital’s premises.

At the end of June, Skellefteå Hospital introduced “certain restrictions”, according to Dagens Medicin.

The Jönköping County Region, Södersjukhuset in Stockholm and Norrtälje Hospital still have their previous restrictions.

Karolinska University Hospital and Blekinge Hospital have not changed their rules for visitors.
