A Simcoe resident was injured during a home invasion last week.
A person forcibly entered a home on Norfolk Street South at just before 8 am on Dec. 15.
The homeowner confronted the intruder which led to the physical confrontation, said Norfolk OPP. The homeowner held on to the intruder while family members called 9-1-1.
“Officers arrived on scene and subsequently took an individual into custody without incident,” police said in a release.
The homeowner was later transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
A 36-year-old Norfolk man has been charged with assault with a weapon, break and enter, mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order.
The accused remained in custody as of Friday afternoon. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
