ALING SAUCE. Six days after he disappeared from his home in Alingsås, Henrik, 15, was found dead in Säveån.
A spontaneous memorial site has been set up near the intersection where he was last located.
– You are shocked, you don’t believe it is true, says Alingsås resident Fredrik Ivarsson.
At 5:30 p.m., the news came. Henrik, 15, who disappeared on Monday evening, has been found dead. According to the police, his body was found in Säveån, where the police and other authorities had an ongoing search operation for several days.
Since then, a spontaneous memorial site has been set up near the river, just a few hundred meters from the place where Henrik was last located via the map function on Snapchat. Alingsås residents came there on Sunday evening to light candles in honor of Henrik.
– I just want to apologize for the sadness. I am very sorry for the relatives, says a person who came to the scene to light a marshal to Aftonbladet.

“Feels sorry for his father”
At around 8:30 p.m., there were a couple of candles and a white teddy bear at the scene. The Säveån runs nearby, and just half an hour’s walk away is the property that has been cordoned off in connection with the ongoing criminal investigation. The 16-year-old who was detained on suspicion of murder in connection with Henrik’s disappearance and death belongs there.
Henrik was last seen by his father Mika on Monday afternoon, when they were seen at home in the apartment. They talked about the school day, and afterwards the father went into town to meet a friend. When he returned home, Henrik was gone. Since then, a massive search operation has been underway in Alingsås – and right now two young men are in custody. An arrested suspect for murder, an arrested suspect for aggravated protection of a criminal.
The disappearance and death have spread concern in Alingsås and many have become involved.
– I have watched the news and followed what happened. People have been worried, and hoped that they will find him alive, says Fredrik Ivarsson, who lives in Alingsås.
Fredrik Ivarsson was also present at the memorial site on Sunday evening.
– I regret everything that has happened. I feel sorry for his dad and not only that. You get shocked, you don’t believe it’s true, he says.
Coroner on site
The police continue to maintain the cordons around Säveån along the E20 in Alingsås. At around 8:30 p.m., coroners arrived at the scene. Police officers stand guard along the roadblocks. Relatives have been notified of the death.
For those who followed the disappearance and hoped that Henrik would be found alive, sadness and emptiness now remain.
– I regret the grief and am very sorry for the relatives, says an anonymous person that Aftonbladet spoke to on Sunday evening.
Alingsås resident Fredrik Ivarsson says he gets worried from a parental perspective.
– It is clear that you become worried about your own son. Even though he is an adult, you get worried, very worried, he says.
