The RE Engine, which was also used in Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2, has been expanded to suit the open world RPG style. While there is a path tracing mode built into the engine, it is possible to enable full path tracing in Resident Evil 4 Remake via the REFramework developer window. This mod adds a significant difference to the game, although it has an improved lighting-based structure. In particular, path tracking combined with DLSS 3.7-powered modding brings significant improvements to some night scenes and objects.
In the video provided by MxBenchmarkPC, the effect of this mode is clearly seen. The examples in the video clearly show how full path tracing can make a difference to the visual quality of a game. In fact, this mode even provides a huge leap forward compared to the game’s current implementation of ray tracing.
