A 25-year-old man was shot to death at a restaurant in Midsommarkransen on Saturday evening.
– It’s terrible, of course, says Alf Thorsell, who lives in the area.
In the morning, the closures are lifted. There is no sign of a shooting at the site the night before. A lighted candle stands outside the restaurant. A few people pass by and stop outside.
Alf Thorsell is out resting the dog Gösta. They took the evening walk just half an hour before the shooting yesterday.
– It’s terrible, of course. This is the development that has been going on recently, he says.
– The worst thing is that it comes and goes. It’s so common now.
Will affect the mood
Alf Thorsell believes that you have to wait and see what actually happened, what kind of shooting it is and why.
– The worst thing is if there were to be revenge actions. That it would continue here.
He has visited the restaurant several times and describes it as a nice place to have a beer with friends. He has never felt unsafe or afraid in the area.
How this will affect people is hard to say – but it will have an effect in some way, he believes.
– It will certainly affect the atmosphere in the area.
Heard the shots
A woman who lives in the area says she heard the shots last night.
– I understood that someone was shot.
Scores of police cars were quickly on the scene, she says.
– The worst thing is that it happens inside a restaurant, where there are people who are completely innocent. It is very tragic, 25 years, she says.
Another resident describes the area as very quiet, a bit like a small town.
– I haven’t felt worried before and I don’t intend to now either, she says.
A man who lives nearby heard the police cars in the evening and saw them drive by.
– It is as it is, he says the morning after.
Will it affect your everyday life in the future?
– Absolutely not.
