Research rocket launched by Sweden crashed in Norway!

A research rocket launched by Sweden crashed on Norwegian soil. It was announced that the TEXUS-58 rocket, launched from the Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden, fell on Norwegian soil due to a malfunction after reaching an altitude of 250 kilometers, where experiments were carried out in zero gravity.

In the statement made by the Swedish Space Company (SSC), it was stated that the rocket landed in a mountainous region 10 kilometers from the settlement, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, located 15 kilometers within the Norwegian territory, approximately 40 kilometers northwest of the planned landing site. Stating that the Norwegian government was warned about the malfunction, SSC stated that the cargo carried by the rocket was in good condition and was transferred back to Esrange by helicopter.

“This is an aberration that we take seriously. We are now investigating why the rocket was flying more northwest than nominal. It is too early to explain why, and we await more information from the current investigation,” said Marko Kohberg, Head of Rocket and Balloon Operations at Esrange Space Center. said.

“Norwegian authorities take any unauthorized activity on the Norwegian side of the border very seriously,” a spokesperson for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. He stressed that any debris removal work requires approval from Norway. (UAV)
