(Tiper Stock Exchange) – AENEAS And Navy renew the collaboration agreement with the aim of continuing to enhance the activities of research joint both in the Italian seas and in the most remote regions of the planet such as the Arctic and Antarctica. The protocol was signed today by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Enrico Credendino, and by the President of ENEA Gilberto Dialuce.
In the various research activities, ENEA will collaborate with specialized resources of the Navy such as the Underwater Grouping Command and Incursors (COMSUBIN), the Naval Support and Experimentation Center (CSSN) and the Hydrographic Institute. In particular, thanks to the partnership between ENEA and the Hydrographic Institute, the updating of the cartographic portfolio of the Ross Sea area in Antarctica and research in the marine geology and sedimentology sector will continue. Furthermore, the instrumentation for oceanographic measurements and the activities of the multi-year research program “High North” conducted in the Arctic with the support of Nave Alliance will continue to be developed.
L’agreement also consolidates the collaboration in the underwater activities of the National Research Program in Antarctica, managed by ENEA for the logistical organization and by the Cnr for the programming scientific: the COMSUBIN specialists will in fact continue to ensure the coordination of the scientific underwater personnel selected by ENEA and the direction of all the dives conducted in the Ross Sea during the annual Italian expeditions to Antarctica.
L’Admiral Credendino thanked President Dialuce for the renewal of the agreement “which is strategic for the country and meets my full satisfaction, as it will allow continuing to fully exploit the excellence of the respective organizations in the field of research and technological innovation, with particular regarding the underwater domain”, and wanted to recall that “in this historical moment, the Legislator and the Government wanted to converge the efforts of the whole country, military and civil, public and private, towards the creation of the National Underwater Pole: a national center of excellence that will be born in La Spezia under the supervision and control of the Navy”.
“The renewal of this agreement with the Navy is a particularly important event as it makes it possible to continue and strengthen a collaboration which in recent years has proved to be very profitable for the results achieved in the service of the country both in the Arctic and in Antarctica”, said the President Dialuce. “I would like to thank Admiral Credendino – he added – because thanks to the joint commitment of the professionals of ENEA and the Navy, they will be able to continue research activities of great importance in the sectors of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and the study of the effects of climate change”.
The report of cooperation between the Navy and ENEA has lasted for years and will continue to be implemented through joint activities in Italy and abroad.
