Research day with Myrapla starts Sunday – is the event worth it?

On Sunday you can play Research Day with Myrapla in Pokémon GO. What happens there?

When does the research day start? The research day with Myrapla runs on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

So you have just under three hours to secure the event bonuses. Unlike a Community Day, the day is not about wild Myrapla spawns, but rather about research tasks.

This is what the research day with Myrapla brings

These are the bonuses: You can get research tasks from Pokéstops that will give you encounters with Myrapla. There is an increased chance of getting shiny on Myrapla – if you don’t have the shiny Pokémon yet, you have a perfect opportunity here.

The Myrapla Shiny family

In addition, the XXS and XXL versions of Myrapla will also be increasingly available. This should be interesting if you want to participate in the showcases, as Myrapla will be the showcase monster in the event.

Additionally, Myrapla can carry Sunstones when you catch them, which is helpful when evolving into Blubella.

There’s also double catch stardust on top. Meanwhile, the following spawn in the wild:

  • Paras*
  • Bluzuk*
  • Knofensa*
  • Knilz*
  • Roselia*
  • Tuska*
  • camouflage pignon*
  • and Frubberl
  • Pokémon marked with an asterisk* can be shiny. But there are only increased chances for Myrapla.

Is the event worth it? Myrapla and its evolutions aren’t exactly among the best attackers in Pokémon GO, so don’t expect them to strengthen your team. However, shiny collectors are in the right place on this day because the shiny monster will be easier to catch.

The event is also worth it if you need stardust, because: There is double stardust and wild spawns of Paras, Knilz and Tarnpignon, which generally bring more stardust when caught.
