Canceled school bus, buses that went into the ditch and several truck accidents. The snowy weather was noticeable throughout Scania on Tuesday morning, but the rescue service in northwestern Scania still experienced the morning as calm.
For rescuers out on the roads, however, it has been hectic.
– Today we had a crazy amount to do, says Donald Pilblad, who is a rescuer.
Less slip on major roads
Donald Pilblad believes that there have been many accidents partly because of the road conditions but also because of how you adapt your driving. They can see that most accidents happened on minor country roads.
– There have been warnings that didn’t happen before, so I don’t think people take it seriously anymore and then you can be a little surprised when it’s reality, says Donald Pilblad about the snow storm that caused accidents on the roads.
Snow and strong winds are expected to last until Wednesday, and Båstad municipality has therefore chosen to cancel the municipal school bus.
