Four members of a Greek rescue team have died in a traffic accident in Libya on Sunday, the Libyan health minister announced.

The accident occurred when the group of 19 people were on their way from Benghazi to the flood-hit Darnah, said Othman Abdeljalil, a minister in the government that rules the eastern part of the country.

15 rescue workers were injured, according to the minister.

– Eight are in stable condition and for seven the situation is critical, he says.

The rescue workers’ vehicle collided with a car in which a family was traveling. Three people in the passenger car died and two are seriously injured.
