Rescue organization warns: Cold and floods deepen humanitarian crisis in Gaza | News in brief

Colder weather and flooding caused by heavy rains threaten to further worsen the humanitarian situation in Gaza, International Rescue Committee organization warn.

Numerous families who have been forced to flee their homes live in tents in Gaza without proper shelter, blankets or clothes to keep the cold at bay. In addition, according to the organization, a significant part of the tents in its operational areas have been destroyed.

The spread of diseases in the middle of the floods is promoted by the fact that, for example, waste and waste water supply has had to be stopped because Israel has blocked fuel transport to Gaza, the organization says.
