World of Warcraft says everything fans want to hear. Reputation becomes account-wide and transmog collectors also breathe a sigh of relief.
The next 3 expansions to World of Warcraft were announced at BlizzCon 2023, which together form the “Worldsoul Saga”. The next add-on is called “The War Within” and will be released in 2024. The developers have already revealed a lot of details about the next expansion and some seemingly small things are real fan favorites, because:
Almost all activations are account-wide.
What has Blizzard announced? In the “What’s Next” panel, the developers already talked about some of the features that will come in the new expansion. “Warbands” in particular was extremely popular. The basic idea behind it is that you want to respect the players’ time more.
The vast majority of activations should therefore be “account-wide” – this particularly applies to Ruf. Gone are the days when you have to establish your reputation with several twinks. If one character has reputation, everyone has it.
The second big innovation concerns transmogs. In the future you will be able to collect transmog items from all armor classes. For example, as a magician you can also collect plate items and add them to your collection, even though magicians cannot use a plate.
Please note, however, that this does not affect the ability to transmogrify itself. A mage must still choose from cloth or cosmetic items when transmogrifying. Only the activation of the items is possible without restrictions.

What does the Warbands feature look like? The developers emphasize that “Warbands” does not offer a new interface in the game. So there is no overview page for the “Warbands” – that is simply the internal name for this system. Once The War Within is live, all of your characters’ data will simply be summarized.
This particularly affects reputation activations. Many players have gained a lot of reputation with numerous factions on old characters, but have changed their “main” over the years. The new main character does not yet have the corresponding reputation activations.
What does this mean for new reputation factions? It is still questionable how these activations for new reputation factions work. After all, it would be possible to farm quests with several characters in order to bring up a reputation faction particularly quickly. Everyone who only plays one hero would then be at a disadvantage. There will probably be limitations from Blizzard here that certain sources only grant reputation once for the entire account.
How do you like these innovations?
