Even Trump’s strongest allies describe the televised debate as a missed opportunity.
There is disappointment in the Republican camp Donald Trump’s and Horrible Harris after the election debate.
Trump and Harris sparred heatedly in the debate on the ABC channel early Wednesday morning Finnish time.
Republican Senator Lindsay Grahama prominent Trump ally, was one of half of the leaders to publicly criticize Trump’s performance.
– A lost opportunity, Graham commented to reporters immediately after the debate.
According to Graham, the former president failed because he did not stay focused, reports the Reuters news agency.
Trump’s former ally Chris Christie according to Harris, he thoroughly prepared for the debate – and Trump did not.
– [Harris] set traps and Trump ran after every diversion instead of talking about the things he should have talked about, former New Jersey Gov. told the media.
Trump himself declared after the debate that he had won it. Trump has also claimed that the moderators of the debate favored Harris, that he himself was “virtually alone against three” and that the debate was unfair.
Even harsher criticism is fired from behind the curtains
Trump receives even more criticism from behind the scenes.
The conservative media Fox News published comments from House Republicans anonymously so that they can express criticism more freely.
One congressman said the debate was a complete disaster for the former president.
“It was one of the worst bloodsheds I’ve ever seen,” the congressman told Fox News Digital.
The same representative added that when Trump stands next to Harris, he looks old.
– He didn’t look old against Biden, and this thing can’t be fixed.
According to another representative, Trump would have had many opportunities to attack, but he did not take the opportunity.
According to representatives cited by Fox, Harris did well because Trump let Harris “get under his skin.”
They also said they were dismayed that Trump didn’t emphasize more of his policies and accomplishments, which they say are stronger than Harris’s.
According to them, Trump should have focused on the situation on the US-Mexico border, world crises and inflation.
Trump’s former rival was also on the same lines Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently dropped his own presidential bid as a non-committal and endorsed Trump. According to Kennedy Harris clearly won the argument in terms of finishing and preparation. Trump would have won on the merits, but “he didn’t tell that story”.
This video shows the most attention-grabbing part of the debate, when Trump claimed that immigrants to the United States eat people’s pets:
According to Republican Party donors and Trump advisers interviewed by Reuters, Harris won the debate because Trump could not stay on topic.
Several also said they were appalled by Trump’s claim that Haitian immigrants are eating dogs, cats and other pets in Springfield, Ohio. The claim is not true.
