Beatrice Emmerik and Leonora Toplica were among the first journalists in place after the alarms about gunfire at Risbergska in Örebro came to SOS.
A large area around the school was already blocked off when they arrived, and they describe how they were dazzled by all blue lights.
– There was a police officer and an ambulance everywhere. And you felt the smell of smoke right away, says Leonora Toplica.
For several hours they stood outside the school and met both relatives and rescue service personnel. Beatrice Emmerik says that it is a meeting with a woman who has stayed with her.
– She came forward after we had been live in a broadcast and asked if we knew more about how many died. Her husband was at school and she had lots of questions. I don’t know how it went for her, but I think of her often, says Beatrice Emmerik.
Hear the reporters tell us more about what met them, for the first few hours outside Risbergska.
