On Friday, data was added NSD that a mother convicted of violence reported the case managers and a manager to the police. This is because they have been in medical records regarding the mother’s two children.
The officers then contacted the head of social affairs, who announced that the municipality has no plans to file a report – but now the municipality’s security manager has done it.
The social manager does not want to answer questions about whether she supports the police report, or what she said to the officers.
– I will not comment on it, says social manager Annette Viksten Åhl.
Several years of chaos
It is turbulent at the social administration in Gällivare after years of influence campaigns.
Last year, an external investigation was started, by criticized consultants, following alarms from whistleblowers. It has resulted in the municipality dismissing two case managers.
The administrators and the union have opposed the dismissals and believe that there is no basis. Final negotiations were to be held in December, but the municipality has postponed these several times.
During Thursday, the same day that the police report became known, the employees were to be informed, but the decision is delayed further.
“Do everything to get rid of us”
SVT has spoken to the case managers who are shocked by the news. One of them is a coordinator and has the job of being on top of all matters.
Are you worried about reporting to the police?
– It is uncomfortable but I have a reasonable explanation because it is part of my job, she says and continues:
– I will make sure that we have done what we are supposed to, that we are on time and what workload we have. Then I take the cases before the social welfare board, the committee and in court.
