A man had to be treated on a respirator for life-threatening injuries after being repeatedly stabbed in the face with a knife in Umeå. Now a man in his 30s is charged with attempted murder after the incident that occurred in mid-May, reports SVT Nyheter Västerbotten.
The victim, a man in his 50s, later said that the man first threw wine in his face and then slapped him, which he only later realized was a stab wound.
“I thought I was going to die where I was lying because of the blood loss,” the man said during interrogation, according to SVT.
The defendant has denied wrongdoing and said it was an “impulse thing” because the victim grabbed him.
