Repaircafé provides refreshed appliances and new friendships

The Repair Café in the Soesterkwartier is open twice a month on Thursdays. The men make everything that is broken with a lot of love. Host Joop is the pacesetter. He hands out cake to the volunteers and explains how it works in ‘his’ Repair Café: “People are welcome from half past two. One time there are 10 customers waiting, the other time there is only one Amersfoorter with a broken clock. You can’t think of anything that we can make here: sewing machines, coffee makers, watches, we do it all. Costs nothing. At least, not obligatory. We use the voluntary donations to buy materials or tools that we lack. Every year we have a snack with all the volunteers. After all, we also do it for fun!”
