With the adaptation of the Sandman comics by author Neil Gaiman, Netflix has his Most epic fantasy project to date created. At the beginning of August 2022, the streaming service made the first season available and shortly afterwards even released an 11th bonus episode.

Netflix’s Sandman Season 2 has been temporarily halted due to a major Hollywood strike
According to What’s on Netflix, the new Sandman season will consist of eight episodes. Filming began in June 2023 and ultimately had to be interrupted due to the Hollywood double strike.
In addition to returning stars and characters such as Tom Sturridge as Dream, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, several new stars have already been confirmed for Sandman season 2. These include, for example Indya MooreAmber Rose Revah, Charlotte Bate and Esme Creed-Miles in unknown roles.

That’s what Netflix’s Sandman series is about
The plot revolves around Dream aka Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), the ruler of the world of dreams and member of the seven eternals. After being summoned and captured by an occultist, he can free after over 100 years and finds his dream kingdom destroyed. In order to rebuild it and regain his old powers, he has to find a bag of dream sand, his “crown” and a ruby amulet.
When is Sandman season 2 coming?
There is still no start date for the second season of the fantasy series on Netflix. If the actors’ strike ends in the near future, they could new Sandman episodes in 2024 appear.
