Renault expands its electric vehicles with commercial models


Renault Trucks is expanding its fully electric product range. Two new models, T E-Tech and C E-Tech, will be available in 2023.

Renault Trucks continues its commitment to supporting its customers’ energy transition and its passion to offer electric trucks for all uses. Since 2020, Renault Trucks offers fully electric trucks from 3.1 to 26 tons produced in France. At the beginning of 2023, the company will also start the sale of two new models in the electric range up to 44 tons: Renault Trucks T E-Tech for regional transport and Renault Trucks C E-Tech for the construction site.

New electric motors from the Renault front

The company’s These new models in the heavy-duty range will be equipped with two or three electric motors providing a combined power of up to 490 kW (666 hp equivalent). It will also be equipped with an Optidriver gearbox. The brand’s T and C E-Tech models will be powered by two to six lithium-ion battery packs with a capacity of 180 to 540 kWh. The batteries of the vehicles can be fully charged in 9.5 hours with alternating current (AC) up to 43 kW and in 2.5 hours with direct current (DC) up to 250 kW. These trucks have a range of up to 300 km on a single charge and up to 500 km with a one-hour intermediate fast charge (250 kW).

The T and C E-Tech can be equipped with three types of power take-offs, electric, electromechanical and on the gearbox, to easily adapt to any bodywork and therefore any use: These new electric models are 4×2 and 6× with a maximum payload of 44 tons. It will be available in 4×2, 6×2 and 8×4 tridem truck versions with 2 tractors.

Renault Trucks T and C E-Tech, which will go on sale in the first quarter of 2023, will be produced at Renault Trucks’ factory in Bourg-en-Bresse. Offering a fully electric product range from 3.1 to 44 tons and 360° customer support, Renault Trucks accelerates its strategy and raises its targets: The brand plans to offer 50 percent of its vehicles electrified by 2030.
