Renault Austral technical specifications
Built on Renault’s new generation CMF-CD platform, Austral will be offered with two different infrastructure characters such as front-wheel drive and four-wheel steering 4Control. While the torsion bar is used at the rear in the standard versions, the fully independent suspension architecture comes into play as standard with the top versions, just like in the new Nissan Qashqai. The fact that the vehicle will be offered with four-wheel maneuverability brings an important capability in low-speed maneuvers in the city.
When we look at the engine side, the 200 hp hybrid option shaped in the center of the 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine at the entry level welcomes us. In this combination of Renault, the consumption value of 4.6 liters draws attention. The second hybrid combination, which comes with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine, will be available with a 12V mild-hybrid starting generator system and two different power options of 140 and 160 hp. Offering 270 Nm of torque in both power output versions, we also remember this engine from Mercedes models.
Renault is adding a brand new equipment option to its product range with the Austral. Named Esprit Alpine and named after Alpine, the sporting producer of the group, this version will be a striking option with its design and equipment, as in examples such as the Hyundai N Line and Volkswagen R-Line. Esprit Alpine packages in which no improvements in engine and infrastructure technical staff will be located; The 20-inch gray color wheel set will bring parts such as the Alpine logo, blackened body parts, Alcantara interior trim, carbon patterned console parts, Nappa Leather steering wheel and aluminum pedals. It is worth noting that apart from this version, the wheel set in the base version of Austral comes in 17 inches.
Carrying Renault’s latest generation technological components on the cockpit side, Austral features all weapons such as a 12-inch digital driver screen, a 12-inch multimedia screen and a head-up display. In addition, an important feature of the vehicle that winks at premium dynamics will be the sound system signed by Harman Kardon. With this; Adaptive cruise control with stop-start assist, safe distance warning system, autonomous emergency brake support, lane follow and lane keeping assistant, 360° camera, blind spot warning system, rear cross traffic warning and LED Matrix headlights are among the prominent equipment of Austral. Finally, let’s not forget that the luggage volume of the family varies between 430 and 500 liters. When the seats are reclined, this figure can stretch up to 1,525 liters.
