Almost exactly three years after the great victory of the Azerbaijani army in Karabakh, this time a 24-hour operation was organized to liberate the entire Karabakh from occupation. Azerbaijan announced today that 192 soldiers were martyred while maintaining control at very important points in the one-day operation.
LONG VEHICLE QUEUES ON THE ROADS TO ARMENIA
In Karabakh, a new page opened with the armed Armenian separatists laying down their arms and surrendering, and those who do not want to live under Azerbaijani rule are moving to Armenia. There are long vehicle queues on the roads leading to Armenia.
In the satellite images published by the Maxar company, long vehicle queues in the Lachin corridor, preferred by those who want to leave Hankendi and go to Armenia, stood out.
THEIR NUMBER REACHED 30 THOUSAND
It is reported that as of this morning, the number of people migrating from Karabakh has reached 30 thousand. This number corresponds to almost a quarter of the Armenians living in Karabakh.
Azeri authorities allow Armenians who want to leave the region after a strict identity check.
Speaking to the BBC, a woman named Malina stated that she and her family hid in the cellar during the Azerbaijan operation, and that after the ceasefire, local authorities told everyone to ‘go to Armenia for their safety’.
ATTENTION-CATCHING VIDEO
Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev said that the Baku administration did not force anyone to leave Karabakh. Speaking to the German publication Deutsche Welle, Hacıyev noted that those who left the region did so by their own decision.
FOOD OFFERED TO CIVILIANS
In the field, the video of the food offered by Azerbaijani security forces to families heading to Armenia attracted attention. Armenian civilians on the Khankendi-Shusha road were seen taking the offered bread and biscuits. Azerbaijani President’s Advisor Hajiyev also shared the image with the message that ordinary civilians did not reject ‘Turkish bread’, and it was stated that the radicals and nationalists who left Karabakh were making propaganda in the opposite direction.
PREPARATION FOR THE ALIYEV-PASHINYAN SUMMIT
Azeri and Armenian delegations met in the Belgian capital Brussels on Tuesday in talks supported by the European Union. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are also planned to meet in Spain on October 5.
LOSS OF LIVES IN THE DISASTER IS AT LEAST 125
On the other hand, the explosion in the fuel depot near Hankendi caused at least 125 deaths. It will take time to determine the identities of those who lost their lives. According to information provided by Armenian officials, some of the 300 injured are in serious condition.
Azerbaijan sent fire brigades to Khankendi to extinguish the fire.
