The German parliament approved the government’s decision to send troops to the European Union Peacekeeping Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR Althea) and to extend the mandate of the armed forces of KFOR in Kosovo for another year.

In the vote in the Bundestag, the tasks of the two missions were approved with the votes of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), the Greens and the Free Democratic Party, which formed the coalition government.

50 SOLDIERS WILL BE SENT

According to this, Germany will send 50 soldiers to EUFOR Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina again after 10 years.

On the other hand, the mandate of 400 German soldiers serving in NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission was extended for another year.

The German army has been in Kosovo since 1999 as part of an international mission.
