Relive the historic presentation of the first images of James-Webb

James Webb go live to discover his first images

The long-awaited first images of James-Webb, the most powerful space telescope ever launched, were finally unveiled this Tuesday, July 12, 2022. A look back at this moment that will go down in history through our special live with 2 guests from Goddard Space Center from NASA.

The wait is finally over! the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), the most powerful and largest space telescope ever designed is now operational! Launched on December 25, 2021 from Guyana on an Ariane 5, the astronomical juggernaut has spent the last seven months traveling, deploying, calibrating and testing itself 1.5 million kilometers from our Earth.

We had already been able to admire the prowess of the telescope through his first pictures a few weeks ago. But these were “only” calibration images, raw images. This July 12, the telescope teams unveiled the very first scientific data, and the result is breathtaking.
