Scheduled to release this December 6, Marvel Rivals is only a few hours away from its global launch. Find out what this free-to-play superhero game is and how to get it.
Fans of Marvel will soon see their long wait rewarded: this Friday, November 6 marks the official launch of Marvel Rivalsthe free-to-play game from the Marvel universe. Developed by NetEase and Marvel Games, the game presents itself as a true homage to Stan Lee’s cult comic strip.
Bringing together no less than 33 playable characters well known to the public (such as Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, Black Panther and many others), Marvel Rivals is a third-person multiplayer hero shooter. In each game, two teams of 6 players compete, each having their own powers and specificities depending on the character played.
A free and multi-platform game
Like other competitive free-to-play games, Marvel Rivals focuses on its multiplayer side with a varied online match system. The game relies on several game modes: Convoy, Domination and Convergence, which will diversify the gameplay and the player’s pleasures.
Marvel Rivals has strived to make cross-play possible between different platforms (namely PC, Xbox Series and PS5), news that does not necessarily make everyone happy. Some people fear too much imbalance between keyboard and controller players. Aiming at your enemies being easier on computer, Xbox Series and PS5 owners fear being at a disadvantage.
Aware of the problems linked to cross-play, Marvel Rivals took the lead. The game will not integrate this functionality for the “Competitive” mode, which will only pit players practicing on the same support against each other.
How to download Marvel Rivals
The pre-download of the game is already available for the most impatient fans. Note that for the moment, only PC players can benefit from it. Two options are available to you:
