Release date, new features, hardcore mode… Season 2 of Warzone 2 in detail

Release date new features hardcore mode Season 2 of Warzone

Warzone 2.0 struggles to satisfy players. The new Battle Royale clearly needs a revamp of content and total overhaul of mechanics. His season 2 could therefore well be the key moment of his young existence.

[Mis à jour le 31 janvier 2023 à 16h52] New look for a new life, the promises of Warzone 2.0 were many. Riding on the planetary success of its elder, the one who achieved the feat of bringing together no less than 100 million players, Warzone 2.0 intended to bring the Battle Royale genre into a new era, by offering more advanced mechanics, a new map, In-game AIs and more. Except that a season of extremely limited content and frankly questionable balancing (hello self-revives and killstreaks galore) will have got the better of the majority of its 25 million players at launch. That’s why Infinity Ward and Activision owe it to themselves to deliver a worthy Season 2 to many disappointed fans.

When is Warzone 2 season 2 coming out?

Warzone 2 season 2 will officially start on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Season 2, originally scheduled for February 1, has been pushed back for various reasons in Activision’s words: “Warzone Season 2 will launch on February 15. Our studio teams are currently focusing on in-game quality of life improvements and various other positive changes for our players. Season 2 includes new content, with the return of Resurgence and a new scaled-down map for Warzone 2. Ranked matches are also back along with new multiplayer maps, new game modes, new weapons and more.”

What will be new in Warzone 2 Season 2?

As you will have understood, Activision has fully understood the latent dissatisfaction of players and content creators linked to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2, and intends to offer a rich range of new content with the arrival of the next season. In-game, this translates into various additions and changes, including the parcel and Gulag systems heavily criticized by players. New weapons, game modes and operators will join the content of the Battle Royale, and we can mention the Resurgence mode which will make its big return to the game alongside a new reduced-size map. A Hardcore mode should also make its appearance during season 2 in Modern Warfare 2, offering a more engaging experience for multiplayer players (less health points, less information on the HUD) and it could be that this addition is making its transition to Warzone 2 as a new game mode.
