Jeff Zucker, President of the US broadcaster CNN, announced that he resigned from his 9-year duty, accepting that he had a relationship with a person working in the institution in a written notification he sent to his employees.
“I SHOULD EXPLAIN”
Zucker, 56, said the affair emerged during the investigation into the behavior of CNN host Chris Cuomo, who was fired in December for helping his older brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Leaving the head of the news and sports department of WarnerMedia, Zucker said, “I was supposed to explain when the relationship started, but I didn’t,” and did not name the colleague he had an affair with.
ACCEPTED
Jason Kilar, CEO of CNN’s parent company WarnerMedia, wrote in a note to staff that Zucker’s resignation has been accepted and will announce an interim leadership plan shortly. (UAV)
