The rehabilitation center Hoogstraat exists exactly 75 years today. People can rehabilitate at the center if they have had a cerebral infarction, an accident or have a congenital disorder, for example. Patients are sometimes admitted, in other cases they are treated on an outpatient basis – so without admission.
In all cases, it is the commitment to learn to deal with a disability and to function as well as possible in daily life. The Hoogstraat has beds for 120 people to rehabilitate, nineteen of which for child rehabilitation. About 600 revalidants are treated clinically every year. About 6,000 people are helped on an outpatient basis every year.
