People can begin registering for the Community Toy and Hamper Program in Paris on Nov. 1.
Shirley Simons, chair of the program, said applications can be picked up at the Brant County service office at 66 Grand River St. N. in Paris on that date.
Monetary donations, for which receipts will be issued, also can be made at the office, said Simons, adding that donations of mitts and hats also will be accepted.
Non-perishable food items and new toys can be dropped off at the service office, as well as the LCBO outlet on Mechanic Street, CIBC branch on Grand River Street North and the Cowan Community Health Hub on Curtis Avenue North.
“Once again, our local schools will be participating in our program by collecting items throughout November and December,” said Simons.
She noted that local firefighters will collect toys at Jingle Bell Night in November.
Firefighters also will be helping with a “Fill a Vehicle” campaign from Dec. 3 to 10.
Simons said that anyone seeking information regarding sponsoring a family should call her at 519-442-3550.
The hampers be distributed Dec. 16, 10 am to 1 pm from the Paris fairgrounds.
“Thank you to everyone for sharing and making it possible for many happy faces at this Christmas time in our community,” said Simons.
