Regionallians can crack – after KD’s change of top name

Regional councilor Erik Lindborg holds his last meeting in May and right now an internal process is underway in the Christian Democrats to appoint Lindborg’s successor. The advance tip is that Sölvesborg politician Deborah Lind, newly elected district chairperson, will take the seat – Lind already has several heavy regional political assignments and has agreed to be nominated.

At the same time, several sources tell SVT that the shift could have consequences for cross-block cooperation in Region Blekinge, where the Social Democrats currently govern together with the Center Party and the Christian Democrats in particular.

The settlement after the election split KD internally and heavy forces in the party now see opportunities for a new regional alliance and a shift in power – during the current mandate.

– At the moment, I cannot say how it will turn out. For the time being, the cooperation we have today applies, I do not want to comment on what happens in the future. We are also in the middle of a nomination process, says Deborah Lind.

M: “Open to all”

The Moderates’ regional council and the party’s group leader Sophia Ahlin do not want to answer whether new talks have been initiated due to KD’s imminent change of leader.

– That ball is not in our court, but we have shown that we are open to all kinds of collaborations.

SVT Nyheter Blekinge has asked the chairman of the regional board Christina Mattisson (S) for a comment.

The new board in Region Blekinge was presented at a press conference on September 19 last year.
