Region Västmanland pulls on the handbrake – cannot afford to hire more

Personnel costs are today by far the largest expense for the region. The hiring freeze applies to all operations within the region.

– We have costs that exceed revenues. Despite a lot of ongoing measures, it is not enough. We have to adapt our finances so that it comes into balance, says regional director Maria Linder.

    There are exceptions to the employment freeze. Partly if the recruitment makes the economy better by replacing rental staff, or if it is recruited for certain training positions and summer temps.
