Reetta Hurskee’s name unexpectedly disappeared from the Diamond League participant list – the competition is at stake due to a communication breakdown

Reetta Hurske scored 1292 – a disappointment for Wilma Murro

The Diamond League of Lausanne offers nine fast bowlers on eight tracks. Laurent Meuwly, who is responsible for athlete acquisitions for the Games, estimates that Hurske will travel there as a reserve athlete.

Reetta Hurskeen was scheduled to compete in the 100-meter hurdles at the Lausanne Diamond League competition on June 30. On Thursday, however, Hurskee’s name no longer appeared on the organizers’ lists.

Finnish singer Viivi Lehikonen coach Laurent Meuwly is responsible for athlete acquisitions for the Lausanne competition. According to Meuwly, the removal of Hurskee’s name from the start list is due to a communication breakdown.

– Hurskee’s camp apparently had the idea that his participation was guaranteed. The race promoter, on the other hand, had a different idea. Hurske is now on the waiting list because, as far as I know, he had not been confirmed. As I just said, I myself was not involved in this communication, says Meuwly.

Race organizers on the pages there are eight athletes who are participating in the 100m hurdles. According to Meuwly, eight tracks are used in the games.

– Eight runners have been confirmed for the race. Now we are in a situation where we have nine athletes for eight tracks.

Meuwly estimates that Hurske will travel there as a reserve athlete and compete on his main trip if places become available. Otherwise, the program will probably include the 100-meter race of the preliminary program.

Hurske’s competition manager Tero Heiska told Urheilu that Hurske is participating in the Lausanne competition. Heiska did not want to comment on the subject in more detail.

Before Lausanne, there are still fence competitions in the competition calendar, at least at the European Championships for national teams in Poland and Ostrava in the Czech Republic, so places may open up if one of the competitors is injured.

– If someone cancels, he gets to run in the 100-meter hurdles in Lausanne, Meuwly said.

About Finnish athletes Wilma Murto compete in Lausanne in the pole vault, Viivi Lehikoinen in the 400 meter hurdles and Oliver Helander in the javelin throw.

Updated at 1:29 p.m.: Heiska is Hurskee’s competition manager, not the manager.
