The opening season of speed skater Reetta Hurskee ended with a crash in Torun, Poland.
Reetta Hurske had a hard time in his opening race of the hall season in Torun, Poland. Hurske fell and had to stop in the preliminaries of the 60-meter hurdles.
Hurske got off to a good start and came in the lead at the first fence. When crossing the second fence, his foot hit the fence, Hurske lost his balance and fell violently on his face.
Hurske seems to have survived the concussion without serious injuries, but is still in the hospital being patched up.
– Nothing should be broken. There are bruises here and there, but there was a wound on the calf that needs to be stitched, Hurske said In the bulletin of the Finnish Sports Association.
Hurske was supposed to start his racing season already two weeks ago, but due to illness, the opening of the season was delayed.
Dutch Nadine Visser was Hurskee’s best speed in his time of 7.89.
The other Finns at the competition night in Torun are pole vaulters Urho Kujanpää and 800 meters running Eveliina Määttänen.
