A bump in the fence ruined the semi-final run and left Hurskee, who competed in the World Championships in Oregon, as the last Finn in 23rd place.

Finland Reetta Hurskeen the races ended in disappointment.. He rattled the fences in the semi-finals of the 100-meter hurdles and finished last in his heat with a time of 13.15, which was weak for him. His ranking at the World Championships in Oregon was number 23.
Hurskee’s rhythm was lost at the eighth fence, which he knocked.
– It took me a few intervals to get into the rhythm. I was able to absorb it, I gained speed and the step slipped. I don’t know if the effort was lacking or if I came too close to the fence, Hurske said in the TV interview.
– This time the effort did not increase. I didn’t crash and I made it to the finish line, but it doesn’t warm up.
Disappointment brought Hurskee to tears in the media interview area at the WC stadium in Uumen.
– These competitions define for the most part what I am like as an athlete, Hurske explained the upset according to STT.
– Of course, it’s also sad because I’m in better shape than ever.
Hurske ran a time of 13.09 in the preliminaries, so he did not reach his level in either start. His record is 12.78 and his season best is 12.88.
Hurske reached his goal, i.e. the semi-finals, but he was not able to show his good mood in either run. After an unsuccessful run in the semifinals, he even wondered if the crash would have hurt him less than the poor finish in the weak final time.
Hurske hoped that he would manage to correct the WC disappointment in the second half of the season.
– There are still the Kaleva Games and the European Championships. Hopefully there will be some more competitions after those, Hurske planned.
