At the end of May, 6.6 per cent of the labor force was unemployed, which can be compared with 7.9 per cent a year ago. Unemployment among young people is falling the most, from 10 per cent last year to today’s 7.7 per cent. Not least in several service industries, the demand for young employees is increasing.
The trend of declining unemployment is also seen among the long-term unemployed, those who have been without a job for a year, a group that has decreased by 25,000 people.
